A Brutally Honest Review of Liquid Chalk Markers (With Video)

So you've been wondering whether to buy a Daily Orders weekly planning board and how well the liquid chalk writes on the glossy surface? Texta Liquid Chalk Review

To be honest, the Texta liquid chalk didn't impress me at all.

Each of the pens took quite a while to prime (pumping the pen on a flat surface to get the ink to come through the nib), and once primed, produced a watery ink that was not vibrant at all. Not a good look to supply these to my customers. Cranky customers with substandard products does not make a happy business owner! On the plus side, they did come in a nice presentation wallet.

Rainbow Liquid Chalk Review

The Rainbow Liquid Chalk Markers also come in a nice wallet, but are rather pricey. When trying to save time is a priority, priming the nib takes a good 1-2 minutes. This doesn't pass my test unfortunately. I'm all about getting things done efficiently and effectively.

The one big plus for the Rainbow Liquid Chalk Markers is the depth of their colour. Certainly compared to the Texta pen, they're streets ahead, but still have some wateriness and bleeding.

The Rainbow Liquid Chalk pens are really good if you want your message to stay for a long time, perhaps a menu board or an advertisement, but for something that will probably be wiped off after a week, it takes a lot of elbow grease to get it moving. Again, not so good for the busy household. They do have more colours in their range than what I've displayed here, but still, they aren't as bright as I would like them to be. 

Uni Chalk Pens Review

After a lot of research, time (and money!!) I decided to use the Uni Chalk Pens, in blue, orange, yellow, pink and green. While I really wanted to include the purple colour, it just didn't stand out enough against the black. These chalk pens are easy to prime, write in a nice thin line to enable maximum use of the space provided, and are really vibrant colours.

Best of all, they wipe off easily, and that is important to me, because as we know, plans change all the time.

In short, I've done all the hard work to find the right pens for the job so you don't have to. The Uni Chalk Pens complement our Daily Orders weekly planning boards perfectly, and together, they'll have you organised in no time.
